Northstar Hesitation before exceleration

The engine in my 93 Allante' runs really good but sometimes on the expressway when I punch the peddle it seems to drop off hesitate and then surge. There are 127,400 plus miles on this engine, but it does not leak and this issue does not happen all the time. What could be happening?

i be changing the fuel filter and then if it still does it, checking fuel pressure at the rail.

I hope you have changed the coolant recently, like within 24 months?

Just picked this car up September 20, 2007, so I don't know when the coolant was changed last.
