sticky ignition

hello everyone.this is my first post ( i'm what you call a newbe).i just purchased a 92 pearl white allante with 58191 on the clock. man , i can say WOW.this caddy is very nice and that comes from a guy who drove acuras for the last 17 years.well today when i started her up the starter would not disengage due do the key not returning to the run position.i had to manually twist it back to that position and when i tried to take the key out it was very hard. i had to twist on the key and jiggle the ignition back and forth a couple of times before the key would come out of the ignition.i have given it a bit of wd-40 but it's still the same way.does any member know how to fix this or should i just take it to the dealer.

Sounds like the "RACK" is breaking inside.

I be calling a LOCKSMITH .. I wouldnt mess with that at all.
a ton of little tiny parts and air bags? nope.

IF you got AAA, they will also pay the 1st $100 of the repair.

I have had the ignition cyl or the internals fail on every car i own.
I just call an independent locksmith, they come to where ever the car is,
i pay and submit to AAA for reimbursement .. do it on a weekday, daytime, it is cheaper..

my last broken RACK, repair = $160.
guy dismantled the steering wheel and inside guts at the curbside.

I'm confused by the AAA comment? I do have AAA but what is up with the $100 contribution to the repair?

The policy covers up to $100 of "LOCKSMITH" repairs.
IF you take it to a DEALER, NOT covered.

Therefore the "Call a locksmith"

It is in your policy.
