I took the car to my mechanic and he said the Cadillac service tech used a "reset switch" to raise the pulldown. But, he didn't know where the switch was. He called the service tech who told him where the hardtop pulldown switch was located behind the driver seat. Doh! Up came the pulldown. I see that the switch is mentioned in the FSM, but it doesn't say where it is. I assumed it was a relay, not a physical switch. |

I left the car for them to address the AC problem and suspension/exhaust rattle. I went through the owners manual section on raising and lowering the soft top and don't remember seeing any mention of the switch. I wouldn't be surprised if it is mentioned in the hardtop section, though, which I didn't look at. |

DITTO on the Allante, the Owner's Manual"
Cost of not reading it? damaged rear glass, damaged power latches, pull downs, mini-covers, etc ...

And yes, my minicovers came pre-scraped so I didn't have to fret the first (and second and third) time I pulled the top up and forgot to remove them. |

Dont feel bad. I have seen mine on the ground, but I wont say who did it.
And I am planning to read the manual this winter. I just hate to put fingerprints on such a beautiful looking book. "Do as I say, not as I do"
