    "Battery Drain" ,,,,

i had constant problems for years w/ my '87,,,turn on to start up and .... nothing. No clicks grind or whirrr.
    Battery checks out good.
Other times I get in & it starts right up.
One day it wont start,,,,a mechanic friend is looking at it with me,,, and finally says,, pull the tilt steering wheel down.
I did.... it starts every time now.
He's about 5'6,,, I'm 6',,, I put the tilt wheel all the way up. He didnt.

    Anyone else run into this?

Yes, I have seen this a number of times. It can happen with a bad rack actuator inside the column, or possibly the ignition switch might need to be moved on top of the steering column.
