Yes... I installed a Transgo shift correction package to beef up this transmission. You can also buy hardened parts and have a custom torque converter made to handle the extra power.

which model number is the best for my car, and stringest. also about what do you think a custom roque converter would cost? Also this is kind of off topic but i sit possible to lower an Allante? I was just thinking wether or not the dampening system would still work or not.

I had a torque converter shop take my original torque converter and beef it up for about $200. They weld a plate across all the fins and suage the fins to the case to make it a lot stronger. It also raises the stall speed which helps acceleration.

The Allante is not an easy car to lower but it can be lowered about 1-1/2 inches. I'll have to dig up the procedure on how to do it if you're seriously interested.

Re: Is there an overhaul kit for the Allante tranny?

thanks for the info about the torque converter, do you think it would cost about the same for me to have it done, and can a repair shop do it or do i have to take it to a performance shop. Also even though im probably not going to lower my car until late spring because I took a couple months off of work to play lacrosse, I'll be broke. However I'm still very intrested in seeing the procedures to lower the car. A few questions regarding the drop, I am going to have to buy anything or have anything custom fabricated? about how much will it cost? will the speed dependent dampening still work? and will the ride be stiffer or softer? Thanks for the help and information you've provided me with so far, I'm very happy that there's somewhere I can goto to get information and help with such a unique car.

Re: Is there an overhaul kit for the Allante tranny?

With regards to torque converter upgrading, you need a shop that specializes in torque converters and has the equipment to open one up. A very few transmission rebuild shops have this capability.

Here's one shop that I've heard good about. The shop I had mine done sold out of the business.

You can read what is involved in strengthening a torque converter.

I'll try digging up the procedure to lower this car.
