Re: Is there an overhaul kit for the Allante tranny?

Yes, there is a rebuild kit available. I rebuilt mine myself. Use a 4T60 or 4T60E rebuild kit depending on what year of Allante you have. You will have to buy a valve body gasket that is specific for the Allante. There is also an extra 4th gear clutch disk on the Allante F7 transmission but mine were good so I reused it. It cost me about $80 for the rebuild kit. I believe that there are aftermarket hardened parts available for this transmission to make them tougher.

Adding a turbo would be very neat but it'll be a challenge. The hardest part will be getting the fueling correct. Does your car have a 4.1L? You might consider swapping in a 4.9L and using the heads and intake from your 4.1L. You would then use and adjustable fuel regulator to handle the extra fuel requirements. This setup would be good for about 225hp. Good Luck!!
