Yup, that's it. It's more commonly refered to as the "Neutral Position Switch" or PRNDL sensor. It wasn't the electrical connection on mine. It was mechanical. There is a plastic part that attaches to the shaft & it broke in two. It kills me, because I pulled it apart & I'm sure it doesn't take more than $5 to make one of these things, however it's kinda expensive at the dealership ($300 range), but I was able to special order one through Autozone's website for $109. No one carried it in stock locally for me (Advanced Auto Parts, Autozone, Car Quest, O' Reilly's, NAPA). It worked perfectly for me. Do note that if you remove it, that the center nut connecting the linkage is easy to snap & you will be stuck if that happens. So, pile on the WD-40 or whatever thread loosener you choose for a few days before.
