Question! ! Seat Belt Starter Killer! !

    Hello,
Just got a '75 Eldo. Conv. in great shape, low miles, orig. w/ new paint -why? It was FREE, other than a $70 battery, but needs new top. The grounded seat belt latch that prevents the car from starting when not latched is preventing it from starting all the time (latched too). I have to twist & pull on the black wires in the belt each time to get it to work. Can anyone suggest how to disconnect this feature -cut a wire to the starter perhaps -or ground it? Which wire?
Also, I'd like to get more power from the carborated 500 -for under $1000 - going to dual exhaust soon ($400). Any other suggestions as far as emissions/ignition/carb changes. I may consider a new Edelbrock 800 cfm carb & I learned that the Edelbrock Performer Manifold wont fit under my Eldo. hood. Any help is appreciated.

On my 74 Deville, there is a 4 wire connector under the dashboard (I think its a 4 wire, that has only 3 wires on it...), on the left between to the steering wheel column and where the parking brake sits that you can simply disconnect. Its a black connector style that you can push open. Don't know how to explain it, but there is no need to cut anything. I usually put it back together when I park somewhere for longer, because so few people have heard of the feature...

    Greetings,
    Andreas

P.S. I will try to make a picture over the weekend and post it here, if you don't find the connector before...

    Thank you Andreas,

I found it -3 wires out of each end -yellow, orange, green disconnected it & she starts every time now. Thanks a Mil. My high beams & hazards don't work -any ideas?
    Cheers,
    -Erik
