Accel HEI Coil,*Check* You folks were SO GOOD on the last question we'll try one more. Valve seals and Rockers. In your Opinion where's the best "VALUE" I do not mean Cheapest, as I do not want to replace em next week. BUT I don't want to spend more than necessary to do the job CORRECTLY.
For the valve seals, go by NAPA and pick up some Clevite brand seals - the "umbrella" style. These grip onto the valve guide and have a rubber part that seals around the valve stem.
The rockers are going to be tough if you have the T-pedastal design. What's wrong with the ones you have? GM made this part obsolete years ago so there are no replacements available unless you can find some that have been sitting in the corner of some warehouse for the last few decades.
The aftermarket has a number of replacement rocker systems available, but these generally require machining the head (heads must come off) and aren't cheap at all.
I've never heard of this before. Maybe someone else can chime in on it? I presume this would be just replacing the rocker arm on the t-pedastal with something from a Ford shaft rocker arrangement?
It's not hard to unbolt one of the pedastals, you might try just getting a pair of Ford rockers from a junkyard and see if they work.
I've never head of the Caddy rockers really wearing out though, just that the T design is unstable at higher RPM's.
