Does anyone know if a 1967 3.21 rear (29 sprag), from a Commercial Chasis will swap into a '68 - '70 Coupe DeVille - - - without too much problem? If not, I'll either have to have 1) a ring and pinion cut to fit the stock rear, or 2) have a 12 bolt or 9" Ford built - the cost is ALMOST THE SAME!!!
I'm looking for something between 3.08 and 3.31 behind a stroked engine and don't wish to go any deeper to keep the engine from revving itself to death. I'll have the TH400 built w/a 2.75 1st and 1.57 2nd but leave the 1:1 third.
That's exactly what i'm trying to do. Dave Smed was helping me out the other day and said the caddys had limited slip in years 63-68. They came in all commercial chassis, and some devilles. The Diff will say "G-1 or G-2" if it's limited and just a number for slip. I'm trying to find one of these limited slip differentials for my '70 deville.
