    1968 472 Oil pump rebuild

    Can anyone tell me how to remove the oil filter by-pass valve and the spring from the oil pump on a 1968 472 or if its even at all possible.any help will be much appreciated

    Unscrew the allen plug on the housing and they should slide out. Let us know if this works out for you. The stock pumps do work well with a rebuild but I would recommend the cast iron melling replacement pumps. They seem to make better pressure and last longer. - Justin
