hello im going to be rebuilding my 472's. the first one im rebuilding stock or semi stock i was wondering what are the bennefits of a high flow or pressure oil pump and which cams from the vendors are slightly better than stock? are there any small things i can do to increase the overall horsepower output slightly? thanks

I would go buy a melling oil pump. As far as cams go, all the vendors have mild cams that are an improvement over the stock cam. A mild cam, lifter, and spring kit shouldn't be much more than $350. You'll probably still need the valve guides milled for clearance even with a mild cam in order to keep rocker arms from running into them.
Do cut the center out of the intake manifold.
Upgrade to HEI if you haven't already.
Get a local shop to make you a nice dual exhaust system.
