Ok.....I wouldn't drive that car if it had a 4.1, i don't like slow cars. And my 87 deville, is NOT slow. You probably drove a 4100 powered deville with no cam, thats why it was slow. Lets drop the 4100 debate already.

Hell, I'll bet the '76 Eldorado will smoke your '87 when it's done. No replacement for displacement

the '76 would smoke most new cars when done!

The 76 has exactly 2x the motor that the 87 has

I don't go around looking like a dumbass trying to race people in a Cadillac.

If a kid is acting stupid at the light and its a typical ricer, I'll go for it. But because my car is stock looking, no underbody neons etc... and I don't drive like an idiot, the boy-racers don't seem to be attracted to me.

My car is fast enough for my needs and then some. I am very happy with the performance from both the 4.9 and the car itself, but its a 13 year old Cadillac, not a race car. It is quick, but not fast. best time of 15.9 @ 85mph proves that while quick, it isn't anything out of the normal. It is a solid 16.0s car.

Street racing is stupid. If you want to race from stop light to stop light go to the drag strip. Sadly, you'll find the ricers there too... though its hard to hear their fart can exhaust over all the 350s, 400s, 454s. 455s and 460's with stright pipes.... helps keep the little guys in check.

    Re: Problems with V 8-6-4 ????

Ricks 4.9 may be faster than my 87 but i don't care, but my 4100 has the msd 6a ignition, and i have the msd pro billet ditributor along with msd cap, rotor, Ignition control module, coil, and super conductor wires and bosch platinum plus 4 plugs. All i have to do is replace my timing gear with steel gear and get a superchip installed. I felt a VERY big difference in power when i took it for a spin, plus i have flowmaster exhaust and a magnaflow cat.
