Re: videos and sound clips
ah what the hell... how about the smaller brother?
Stock 91k miles 425 with open element 14" Edelbrock air filter.... which is what all the sound is from when the secondaires open..... quite alot of noise just from a free flowing air filter
Here is a sound clip of some normal driving... no secondaires but you can kinda hear the suction from the air cleaner.
Yeah she has an exhaust leak, you can hear it pretty well in some of the clips.... coming from the left manifold, I am pretty sure is it the gasket and not a cracked manifold, though I don't know.... dosn't bother me anymore.
Maybe I'll upload the sound clips when the hole was in the cat. Damn, that was loud... kind of a droning sound, I didn't like it, but it was loud
This is with the old rear tires... which were literally bald... they would spin... alot, but not leave rubber, make smoke... or even make noise... check it out
Short burnout... yes, it did get done raining, but it was for that Cadillac contest thing..... this is why those tires were bald
No engine sound, but burrying the speedo in 2nd, this was shifting into 3rd at 4,000RPM (about 92mph) I did, once push it to 4,400RPM in 2nd... kinda scary and very loud... that is when I topped out the car at 110mph (GPS verified) in 2nd gear.... never again though, stock 425 really dosn't like that... she will however cruise all day wide open in 3rd, RPM is about 3,700 and it'll maintain 108mph... not too shabby
This is simply putting it in drive and hitting the gas... notice how it shifts into 3rd a whole lot sooner then 2nd? (3,400RPM vs. 3,900RPM) really isn't a big deal, but I'll tell ya, on the highway for passing, accelerating, or just messing around, running 2nd gear right to 4,000RPM (speedo burried) really gets the car moving a whole lot faster.
This is just running first gear.... it is easy to see how much the 2.28 gears hold the car back...
Here is a random driving video with some speed runs.... this was done to actually test the "compressed MiniDV" mode on the camera... basically the best blend for high quality video/sound, but still a realitivly short file size... this is a pretty high quality video (tho not the best) but considering it is almost 12minutes long and only 61mb of space, I am very happy. Seeing this makes me miss NY That was my home town for 18 years... ah well..... still nice video IMO. This was taken on the MiniDV tape itself, the others were on the SD card.
and... perhaps my favorite movie of the '79 DeVille... can't hear the engine THAT much, because I really didn't need to get on it, let alone open the secondaires... but still, hella cool
