I just purchased an newly rebuilt 8.2L Caddy 500.
It is a 1976 model converted into a marine engine for my 27 foot boat.
So far, I have cleaned everything up and painted it. I replaced the dist. cap, coil, spark plugs and wires and mounted it.
I also have installed a Crane HI 6S ignition kit, and a Edelbrock Preformer intake manifold.
I have to buy a new carb, wedge plate, and alternator.
My question is..... what is the best 4bbl carb, Edelbrock or Holly? Will I need 750 CFM or 600 CFM.
Also, do I need to get a 100 amp alternator, or will a 60 amp be good enough. I can't find any books on this engine, does anybody know where I can get one?
Last question, I am also looking to replace my mechanical fuel pump, I can't find one for the Caddy 500.
