    what is "ACROMAT" ?

I am in the process of replacing belts on my 68 eldo.
The manual says that I have to raise the front of the car and remove the right hand "acromat" to loosen the A.I.R. pump screw.

Are they talking about the splashgard ?
(I can't find the word acromat in any dictionary)

    Thans for you help

    Bernard

PS: Is the A.I.R system necessary , can I "unplug it" and how ?
