Don't mean to interrupt the thread, but this guys question sparked one of my own. I have a tranny leak that sounds very similar to his in my 70 Deville.
I drive my car like an old lady.
I don't have the means to fix it.
I want to have as much fun cruising slowly as possible until I just have to get rid of it.
I want to try the brake fluid thing.
    How much should I add?

Please don't do that. I'm not sure what that will do to the tranny, and what kind of problems it will cause for the next guy. You COULD cause someone to swear-off the classic Caddies. My '76 had cheap fixes all over it, and I ended up giving it away. I don't wish that on anyone.
