    Cadillac 390 crank

I have a friend who wants me to rebuild his 63 cadillac 390 engine. From my understanding the 63 is different from the other years. The problem is the engine is missing the crank and i think the crank is one of those differences. I dont think one from a different year will work. The car still has the original hydra-matic transmission. I have been looking everywhere for it but cant seem to locate one. Anyone know where i could find one?

    Re: Cadillac 390 crank

The 390 from a 63 is the first year of a new family of motors. They went to 429 cid, not sure what year, and 67 was the last year for the family... I know the oil pump in the timing case cover is maybe one of there big problems... I took apart a few 63 390's over 25 years ago and not one of them had a good cam...Good luck
