    Engine cradle?

I'm looking for an engine cradle to store my 472 on. All my searches only find cradles for Chevy, Ford and Chrysler.
Can one for another brand be modified to fit a Cad engine easily?

    Re: Engine cradle?

If i remember correctly, many dimensions for the 472 family of engines are actually similar to the 429 family of Ford engines.

    Re: Engine cradle?

I've almost got the 500 out of my '76 DeVille and I'd like a cradle too. I found one supposed to be for a 472-500 at Summit Racing:

    www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1068-1/

It's a little pricey ($90 plus shipping), but maybe that means it's really good. Has anyone used their stuff, or are there any other brands out there?

    Thanks,

    -Mike Beda

Actually, I don't think that's too bad of a price! There's also this aluminum engine test stand for $150 http://www.hotrodparts.com/cad500.htm

    Re: Engine cradle?

I had a 472 on a sb/bb cradle. It worked just fine for me. It's got an 800 pound weight limit. If I get a chance I will put my extra engine on it today or tomorrow and try and get a picture on here for you.
I just have the $40 one from jegs i can't post links yet since I lost my old password and couldnt get it back since it was on an old email
