I was looking for opinions on a 500 out of a '76 Eldorado. It has been bored .030 and stroked to an overall displacement of 523 c.i. using a KB-529 stroker and cam kit from Cadillac Motorsports Developement (CAD Company). Heads have oversized valves, larger springs, stem seals and a conversion to shaft-mounted rocker arms. Compression ratio is approx. 9.2:1 using Silvolite flat top pistons. It has a Edelbrock 2115 mid-rise manifold with a Holley 750 Spreadbore carb with the K&N.
I am not extremely familiar with the Cadillac big blocks so I was just looking for any opinions on this setup. Any info on the kit used, horsepower/torque estimate, reliability, ect.
The horsepower is gonna be more than 400 with the shaft rockers (1.72:1) as opposed to the the stock 1.65;1, the big valves and the 9.2:1 CR.
I think you will have like 465 HP and like 565 on the torque figure. Of course the cam picked for that build will determine the power too, and it's not likely that a mild cam was chosen for an engine like that. The CadCo site has some dyno tests in their catalog on some of their parts.
