Performance intake manifold ??

Hello

I am in the progress of an engine swap
A 500 is going into my 67 eldorado

And now i was wondering if there is,and if so what is the best performance intake manifold for the eldo?

I understand that for example the edelbrock manifolds are too high
for good hood clearance??

Any suggestions?

there is nothing you can use and keep the hood stock.. the best thing to do is do a little work to your stock intake...a few hours of grinding can help alot..

I ported and ground the stock intake (basically port-matching ) The air conditioner pump mounting problem is also there with the Edelbrock manifold, but Flashcraft has the brackets for the aluminum manifold (not cheap)
I'm putting this particular engine in a 1977 El Camino.

Forgot to ask: There are some mods possible on the carb flange of the stock manifold. Any info on that somewhere?? The old site referenced is no longer available.
Or should I let it alone/stock??

Thanks for that picture. The other pix I found were not as good as that one. I have machine shop access, so milling it out isn't a big deal, but wanted a bit more detail.

I did the mod on the intake today. Took about an hour on the Cincinati mill.
Took two pix, but I'm not up on posting pictures. I'm going to remove the sharp edges and do a bit of blending with a die grinder. The pictures from here helped, but once I looked it over it was an easy machining job.

The large picture was taken just after milling. I've since blended all the runners going off the plenum and rounded all the sharp corners, edges etc. In the small pic I have it clamped to the table on the mill, ready to auger it out!!

70eldo, my engine hasn't been installed yet. It's going into a ;75 Chevy El Camino. Others here may have done this manifold mod, and could comment on it.
