| will fit a 500 in a '67 eldorado I took a look at my 500 engines, FWD & RWD. They all have an oil filter mounted with the bottom tilted maybe 35 degrees forward from vertical, and slightly inward just like yours. I am sure I have seen a unit which tilted much more forward toward horizontal, but I can't find it right now (since the move). Perhaps it was on a 425 or 368 engine of a smaller car. Maybe someone else knows what engine has it. I would try one of these.
The 67 Eldo design must have been modified for the 68 engine. I can't see just how bad your problem is, but I might try taking some metal off that bracket (for the steering idler? Or the steering damper?) Some new metal could be welded on the far side if a lot was removed. OR get a remote filter mount which should minimize the modifications. MTS did this with a 500 in a 1956.
