Harbor Freight for a cheap gauge...or you can make one from an R12 gauge set, but I wouldn't use it for AC again.

Re: Help. EFI 76 eldo won't start

Finally got around to Harbor Freight and bought the fuel injection tester. Worked like a charm. I have 40 psi at the fuel rail so I guess both pumps are working. I was hoping that a pump was bad so I could replace and get back on the road. Guess back to teh drawing board. Any tips let me know. Thanks

Okay now you want to find out if its spark or a gas problem...Take of the air cleaner and spray starting fluid in and see if it fires up for a few seconds...if it does than you got a computer problem ..if it does not fire up you have a spark problem.. could be the module or coil... if it is the computer it could be a sensor or switch... let us now what you find...

Re: Help. EFI 76 eldo won't start

Must be a gas problem. Shot some fuel in the throttle body and it fired right up then died. I till have to buy that noid tester i guess and see if the injectors are shooting fuel. I need to check my ecm connections too.

Re: Help. EFI 76 eldo won't start

Is it holding 40 psi while it is cranking?

Re: Help. EFI 76 eldo won't start

If it pumps up to 40 lbs when the key is turned on your getting enough fuel pressure to start the motor. it runs for about 5 seconds when turned on... if the pump does not pump while cranking thats a different problem.. you have to check to know if the injectors are getting a pulse.. because you said it did fire up when you poured fuel in the throttlebody I'm betting your not getting a pulse....The sensor or reed switch on the distrubitor gives the ECM the pulse for the injectors ...these almost never fail....a bad connection or bad ground could be it.... or the ECM has failed...Let us now about the pulse...
