Does a 472 in a 67 Coupe fit?

Remove this ad
I have a 1967 Coupe Deville with no motor or trans. I have bought a 472 cid engine with trans. It currently doesn’t run. I’ve done research and have found out the 425 comes stock with the 67. My question is will the 472 fit without any modifications to the 67 coupe?

Your car comes stock with a 429... not the same family.. Some mods would be necessary...

Re: Does a 472 in a 67 Coupe fit?

I’m pretty sure it does come with the 429. I have made some measurements from the motor mounts on the 472 to the mounts that are on the car and that looks good. I’m just not sure if the oil filter or oil pan will clear.

There are Front, mid and rear sump oil pans the will fit that motor.. I think the front sump fits your car but not sure.. there are two oil pumps the one you have and a 425 pump off a 77 up.. is on a different angle, might work better.. I have a used pump you can for shipping, you can see if it fits better.
