I just bought this car last week and the fuel gauge does not work. BUT, I figured out today, (by filling up and knowing what was left in the tank and how many miles I drove since the last fill up), that the car goes about 7 gallons per mile - city driving. Yikes!
Here's hoping for lower gas prices SOON.

Re: miles per gallon
I dunno about the caddy's, but I had a '66 Lincoln Continental that got 6 mpg whether you were running it down the highway at 45, 70, 110 or cruising around town doing burnouts at the local car show. The big 462 was an awesome motor. I just sold a '72 Cad that had the 500, and it got even worse mileage, but it didn't run well at all and needed a lot of work, so that's not a good indicator. Also, my old Dodge 413 Max Wedge gets absolutely horrible mileage...not sure what, but when you hafta run the good stuff and you fill the tank every 150 miles or so, you know its not driven too much.
Haha its great when you pull up next to one of those hybrid cars with the people that actually have intentions on being kind to the enviroment....and then you rev up the engine and totally defeat the purpose of their car for the day! Guzzlin gas and killin the ozone! At least with my 68
