    New Here, Need Info

    Hey,

I'm new here, just joined up. I just came across a Cadillac engine today and i'd like to know how i can ID it to know what exactly it is. The guy who has it said he 'thinks' it's a 425 but isn't sure. I'm not familiar with Cadillac engines, i'm into Oldsmobiles myself, but if I knew exactly what it was I just might take it, since the price is right, FREE .

    Thanks in advance
    Craig

it's not in a car right now, and the owner doesn't know what it's out of.

425's have a different intake manifold than the 472/500's. It's a single plane design that sits very low in the lifter valley and it's easily distinguishable from the 472/500 manifolds.Check to see if it's that design
