    Cat converters?

I was wondering if Cadillac didn't put catalytic converters on the '81 DeVilles? I thought that I read somewhere that they didn't start putting them on until '84, but I was just wanting to check before I go to get the car inspected. Thanks.

Catalytic converters were mandatory starting with all 1975 passenger cars.
My '81 Fleetwood has its original converter ,and it's coming apart.
