| 368 into truck swap (oil pan queastion) I'm working on a 1962 Chevrolet that I bought for $50. I also have a good carbureted 368 and Turbo400 transmission that I'm installing. It's perfect for me because it's plenty of power for cruising AND I get the filling effect a big-block has on an engine bay. My question is about the oil pan. The engine came from an '80 Fleetwood. The sump on the pan appears to be a "rear" sump pan, but it doesn't want to clear the K-member on the truck. I've heard talk that some sort of Eldorado oil pan really fits the bill for a "true" rear sump pan. Which year pan/pickup tube should I get? Is it a simple bolt-on job? Thanks. |
