    500 crank fit 472?

I've been reading various sources regarding the 472 and 500's. It sounds like they are very similar with the exception to the heads and stroke.

Just curious if a 500 crank would fit into a 472 without heavy modification?

    Thanks.

    Re: 500 crank fit 472?

Nevermind, I finally found the answer to my own question.

    per 500cid.com

    Q: Can I convert my 472 block to a 500?
A: Any 472 can be converted to a 500 by changing the crank and pistons. 1968 and 1969 blocks will require notching at the bottom of the bore to clear the rod nuts.

my friend put a 500 crank in his 472. I'll post pictures once he gets it in a car. I think it's going in a 61 ford galaxie.
