I have a 94 Fleetwood Brougham which, unfortunately, is currently motorless. I was curious what the advantages/disadvantages of swapping from the factory LT1 with a vette LT1, what the main differences are, and what problems I would run into in doing so. The brougham's tranny and driveline is factory. Thanks for the replies!
Nice car!!! A vette lt1 has aluminum heads where our cars have iron heads. Its been said that our iron heads actually flow better than aluminum heads when stock (about a 5% difference). Then you gotta consider the weight factor of our heads. Some people say the gain is cancelled out by the weight.
A vette motor also is not cammed right for our cars extra weight anyway. If you don't wanna go crazy you could with a cam that will provide better low end torque which will work for our cars. crane has the 227 cam which is what I'm looking at for my caddy. there are a few others out there the zz3 cam, and gmpp 845 cam. Combined with a set of 1.6 roller rockers and and good set of valve springs that will take the lift, the car should run great!!!
Nah... the skirting is fine. The only scrubbing occurs on the front wheels when you turn the steering wheel lock to lock, but I've adjusted to it and really dont scrub all that often, well not enough to hurt anything any way. But if it werent for the rear skirts id be on spinners right now! ...Or you could go with 20s in the front and 22s in the back, that wouldnt look to bad either.
