Picking up new CTS this Saturday

If all goes well, rarely does, I'll be picking up new 2.0 Luxury CTS this Saturday. What could go wrong you ask? The deal I've been quoted on paper is: Take my 2011 Coupe with 5 lease payments left. Getting a 2.0 Luxury AWD, Nav, Sunroof, 18" polished wheels, magnetic drive. Grey/Platinum. MSRP $58,080. No money down (just Doc fee, license and first payment) $631/month for 39 months. That's less than my current payment. The salesman seems like a good guy so I have no reason to disbelieve him. The dealership is top rated. Every other dealership salesman has told me they will not be able to deliver that deal.

I count the minutes till Saturday.

BTW, why the 2.0 instead of the 3.6 you ask? I drove it and it is as fast as my coupe (0-60 in 6 seconds) and hopefully will get a lot better mileage (15-16mpg in my coupe). In addition the 2.0 is $6k cheaper. Since it is so much lighter than the 3.6 I was able to power into 90 degree turns with no problem and it does feel lighter and more responsive.

Hey congrats! I know what that wait feels like. Mine took three and a half weeks for delivery. Curious - Why is yours priced at $58,080 mine seems to be spec'd identically to yours
(polished 18", mrc, nav, sunroof,etc...) and it was $2000.00 cheaper at $56,080?

Boy, you got me on that one. I have looked at 10 similar cars. Without the polished wheels they all came in at $57,630 MSRP. So I don't know what is missing from your car to have an MSRP $2000 less

Is yours by chance AWD? I bet that would be the reason if that's the case I got RWD.

Enjoy! I am so loving driving the New CTS. Mine is an AWD too, and its awesome to drive. Too bad we are going into winter...my goal is that I am going to start buying cars in the spring. I always end up buying now, and then go right into winter. Yuck!

Re: Picking up new CTS this Saturday

With 2 days to go till I pick up the '14 CTS, I have a tiny concern. Every new CTS I've leased (this is my 4th), it was always so superior to the previous one, I knew I would never miss my old one. My worry is I'll miss the incredible looks of the coupe. I never owned a car that would get so many positive comments from total strangers (they all think it is a V with 550 horses). I've driven the new CTS and it is wonderful. I hope as I drive it home Saturday I go, "Outstandingly incredible!".

congrats ! keep us posted on all the details.... the Motor Trend summary seemed to show the 3.6 handled better but i think the 4 turbo would handle much better.... especially with the right tires and mag ride. I was amazed at how smooth the 4 turbo is....

Re: Picking up new CTS this Saturday

I just picked up my new '14 CTS Luxury with the turbo 4 last weekend. I am getting lots of looks as I drive it around town, people have given me lots of compliments on it. Even better, there aren't any others on the roads here in Dallas yet, so I feel special driving it around!

And it is crazy fun driving it around. I put on almost 200 miles the first day I had her and had a huge grin on my face the whole time.

Well you aren't the only one in Dallas with one I have however been getting lots of looks as well though.

Sadly, it's a giant icicle right now. So no taking it out this weekend!

I had to go to Arkansas for work this week and decided to drive. Having to drive back in the ice on Thursday had me puckered up the whole time! But, the new CTS handled it amazingly well and didn't slip or slide. She definitely needs a good bath now though, just maybe not this weekend.

Re: Picking up new CTS this Saturday

So I was going to pick up my 2014 CTS lease for $630/month Saturday morning. It was a 30 mile drive to this dealer. As I was pulling out my driveway my phone rang. It was a dealer only 15 miles away and he said,"If we get you the exact same car for $599/month, would you buy it from us?". Thought about it for a minute, and said, OK! Wow, went from a high of $740/month to $599 without a lot of effort. Now I closed the deal at that price, but they have to get my car from another dealer. I gave them till next weekend to find it. It's cold and snowy here, so I'm not in a big hurry.
So the saga continues and I'll let you know what develops.
