The renderings look too conservative, in my opinion, in regards to style. The C-pillar needs to be broader and the rear quarter area "tweaked," perhaps along the fin-bodyside line, to be more prominent. Although that is a nice design, it is a lot more conservative than the present CTS Coupes. Hopefully, the designers will retain a pointy-creased rear deck-lid, more than exhibited on the generation III CTS Sedans. Thanks for posting the link!

In my opinion they made a major improvement to the coupe. The lines of the car have turned my two cents completely around. I like the bold statement that the coupe makes at present, however I feel that they have made a very wise change in the body style . It has a very competitive stance, and with the exception removing 132 ponies from the power plant for the V series ( aaarrrrgggh). It is coming into its own and is still very much it's own style, It's the best one in the line up thus far. Having said that I truly think GM should consider allowing for the true V series to join the next generation coupe.... They offset the slow sales by doing an ( by special order only ) detail and for those who willing to shell it out..... Why not let have ( after all the customer is always right.... Right? For a car company of true class this is not beyond reason, and Cadillac truly is and becoming more so as time goes on. Give back the ponies, it's still America. ( tear drops......jets fly over the waving flag....fades to a commercial advertising the lost 132 ponies being found. Lol.

They still have the Mercedes AMG and the Beamer M5 to contend with . The V6 TT is impressive being what it is ... A V6 pumping out 420hp, but lets face it, Against the performance of a AMG or M5.....I fear tail lights.... On the street and for the consumer that demands performance.

I respectfully disagree with Blueangel. Although, it looks better than the sedan, I think they are stepping backwards with this coupe, TT V6 aside, which is exciting. While I like the looks of the front end, when you get to the back, it's a little pedestrian. As the article stated, they made it more of a notchback like the Audi A5. When looking to buy last year, I narrowed it down to the A5 and the CTS coupe. The Caddy had better bang for the back, but it was a close call because the A5 admittedly felt a little "tighter". The main thing that swayed me was the design of the 2nd gen coupe. It is unique and sets the vehicle, and by extension, the brand apart from the crowd. Cadillac says that this gen is the largest selling luxury coupe, but I'm afraid they are going to lose more buyers than they gain if they build this CTS coupe.

Even though it isn't an official image No thanks.
I could picture something similar though since GM seems to be good at Alienating their existing customers.

Cadillac wants to gain market share based on BMW's customers. That means they have to make it appeal to BMW buyers. These are the 20-40 something crowd.

Every one I know that owns a BMW, Lexus, Mercedes already likes the look of the Cadillac's but with them they still have the stigma of being an unreliable more expensive Chevy.

Cadillac styling has always had a two-faced approach to styling (so to speak), going between risky and moderate design. I have come to expect such changes as they always go and come back, I feel this is just another phase of that. Being that I have been a fan of the cadillac for many years, I can count how many changes that I did like and did not, even the ones I did not eventually grew on me. Cadillac's designs always seem to be leading to the next. with the exception of the cimmeron, cinnebun....whatever they called it... Kcar with a caddy badge (design concept not clear). You can see the pattern through the years.

    As for the cts coupe,...
It really looks like the dramatic change has returned. I imagine it wont be the last time.

I am waiting for thisimages (4).jpg and the ciel, if they have to do this to get there get going.

Good work, BlueAngel#07, in the Sedan you are awaiting--it is a beauty! In your earlier post, I think it may not be clear to you, there will be both a generation III CTS V-Sport edition and a generation III CTS V-Series, eventually--with the CTS V-Series bringing back the additional ponies. Until then, it looks as if, in the 'Meet your 2014 Cadillac line-up on GMInside News, the generation II CTS V-Series will still be built alongside the newer generation III CTS Sedans (and this includes 2014 CTS Coupes!) Incidentally, the new paint colors for 2014 are Obsession Red, Phantom Gray Metallic and Majestic Plum Metallic, with Twilight Blue (dark blue) Leather available as the new interior color (for the carry-over 2014 generation II CTS Coupes being built). It's confusing! In any event, the next generation CTS Coupe (or whatever model name slots into the successor vehicle of at least similar size) must have bold, brash styling above all else!

I like it too. It's not as "in your face" as the current design, but it is a nice evolution. A little more "grown up". I would definitely by it.

OK, now that we have a confirmed sighting of the ATS Coupe let's hope the CTS coupe isn't too far behind. Actually I kind of like the lines of the ATS coupe. We'll see what hppens.

    Re: Supposed CTS Coupe design

I really believe this CTS Coupe rendition lends itself to more harmonious lines for a Coupe than even the ATS Coupe. The slightly larger styling of the new CTS is more aesthetically pleasing and more polished in a Coupe than a Sedan version, whereas I believe the opposite is true for the ATS. I believe the ATS looks better as a Sedan and the CTS as a Coupe and will be really interested in seeing them in person in a side by side comparison. As is always true, perception can vary greatly when viewing these vehicles in person, as well as the various color combinations.

Sorry man, in my opinion, that last pic of the Seville you want is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I want Cadillac going AWAY from the age of Devilles and Sevilles and DTS's....hell I even have issues with the STS and XTS for this reason. The Audi A7 looks 10x more sporty and cool than the XTS, which is supposedly its counterpart. Cadillac needs to head in the direction of Audi and BMW (but not necessarily Mercedes in all ways...), which is a focus on cool and sporty, and having a mean look to it that demands respect and awe from all ages.

So far the CTS and ATS are both great in that area (with the subtraction of the 2014 CTS's rear end), but the XTS needs some work. I get the idea of big, full size luxury sedan...but the A7 executes in a much better way. Any age group might buy an A7 if they don't mind the size, but the XTS leans heavily towards the older generations.

I also feel we need a new XLR. Darn it, with the exception of the old-man interior, that was a cool car. Far cooler than any Z3/Z4...

I hear you there and agree to some extent, as far as a full sized luxury sedan the XTS is not hitting the mark for me and I would prefer the design of the Seville over the XTS. The concept that is the seville and the CIEL givin to full sized American luxury it looks as if it would fulfill the needs of what is expected. You can't forget about the serious touring car buyer, (some are not intrigued by extreme performance). The DTS was and is still viewed by some to have the old (BUICK) gram and gramps motif . But once in it the opinion tends to change. I still like the idea of a having a luxury car that is one, while having sports car that is one instead of treating one like other.

Still it will be interesting to see where there designs will go, can't say I'm disappointed with there direction thus far.

As for the Seville I would like to see it from some different angles.

I want to go new, but will wait for now.
