I also fear the CTS will debut with the 6 speed trans and not the expected 8 speed since Corvette also bowed with the 6 speed (also planned for the 8 speed auto). If that is the case then the 2014 will be at a disadvantage when compared to others in that category. Not sure what I will get later this year.

Could be a real disapointment, especially after the lackluster reception of the sofT ATS styling.

Hey, this thread is déjà vu - I created a thread with the identical title about 4 months ago!

GM has also suggested that the new CTS may have less chrome than before.

The interior looks like some one went to autozone and went overboard with a couple rolls of that fake chrome clinch on edging LOL

I just searched 2014 Cadillac CTS less edgy and found the original thread. There's about 5 pages of discussion.

When I saw the title, I thought someone revived the old thread and then realized it was new. How funny. Just a quick comment about the "soft" ATS styling. Interestingly, I saw one on the road the other day, and after realizing that I'm not seeing very many on the road yet I thought, not bad, but I am not wowed. I have a feeling the CTS may get the same reception. At least on the ATS, they are marketing it as sporty which is promising.

The CTS is Cadillac's "baby". It's the car the helped revive them besides the Escalade. I don't think Cadillac will take a chance on the screwing it up, especially since its been known for its styling. If you look real close at the camouflage pics you can see almost a up right CIEL type grill. I was talking to my sales guy yesterday and he's leaving this week for a convention in California and he's supposed to get a sneak peak at what the new CTS and Escalade is going to look like.

Re: 2014 Cadillac CTS Styling may be Less Edgy, More “Sophisticated”

It couldn't very well be more edgy than the current CTS, could it?

It looks to me like it will be at least as large as the STS. Wouldn't hurt if it had more leg & trunk room than that car if they can keep the weight down.

More headroom will be good, too, if everyone is going to order a sunroof.

Re: 2014 Cadillac CTS Styling may be Less Edgy, More “Sophisticated”

It doesnt look that much bigger than the current CTS to me anyways..

My b.f. is 6'4+ and he has no headroom problems up front in my car, The only thing he doesnt like is the placement of the dash to the doors with getting out of the car, because it forces him to scrunch up and almost kick the door panels where the speaker is while getting out..
Back seats with space and head room he says forget about it for long trips.
But thinks Cadillac should copy the interior spacing like the G8's he says that is the most comfortable back seat he has ever sat in besides a Limo then again he thinks the G8 and Holden version should be a rebadged CTS with the exterior looking exactly like a CTS lol

tinman, I think it's called "starting a family". Was quite popular back in the 50's and 60's.

And drive-in movies were popular, too! I have stories, but that's for another time over a drink.
