Next-Generation Cadillac CTS On Track for 2013 New York Auto Show Reveal
Here's a copy/paste of a recent article at GMAuthority.com/blog:
Jan 23rd, 2013
With the Cadillac ELR strutting its stuff and winning design awards at the 2013 North American International Auto Show last week, many were left wondering when the third-generation CTS would show itself to the world. And it seems we will have to wait a few months before that actually happens.
According to an Automobile Magazine interview with Robert Ferguson, the former-lobbyist-turned-Cadillac-VP, Ferguson mentioned that the all-new 2014 CTS will be unveiled during the 2013 New York International Auto Show. That’s happening at the end of March, just after the Geneva show in Switzerland. Secondly, Ferguson also nodded that development of an ATS coupe continues, but wouldn’t elaborate on what’s happening beyond that, though everyone’s got a pretty good idea what to expect.
Lastly, Cadillac is not scheduled to host a press conference during next month’s Chicago Auto Show, so we aren’t expecting anything new there. Chevrolet, on the other hand, is.

Good things are happening if you like GM vehicles. They are going from the oldest line-up in the industry right now to the most up-to-date by early/mid 2014. In 13/14 we have the ELR, CTS, ATS, XTS for sure. They might have a new Escalade, Lambda based crossover (that is my dream, but probably not happening), ATS coupe, ATS-V, and ???. Not bad when 6 months ago there was the CTS, SRX and Escalade, but in a year we will have at least 4 cars and maybe 3 SUVs. Hopefully they will soon have the 3.6TT and an 8 speed transmission soon as GM is way behind in powertrains.
I personally doubt the coupe will be ready by New York, but GM seems to be trying to go with more surprises and fewer long, drawn-out intros. Maybe they will have an ATS coupe "concept". That will be great if they do.
There are supposed to be 13 new Chevrolets in 13.
We know about: Corvette, SS, Silverado, Impala, Malibu, Cruze diesel, Traverse, Spark EV
The rest are supposed to be a surprise: Code 130R, Code 140, S-10, Trailblazer, Tahoe (supposed to be in 2014, but maybe early as a "surprise"), ???
Those are my guesses.
Buick will have an updated Lacrosse, Regal, and Enclave along with the Encore.
