How much HP would it take to break 200 mph in a V?

Re: How much HP?
I know at least 4-5 V's that are in the 700+ HP range that are very close to 200 in a standing mile. Are you talking about top speed in general or? If you have an automatic, you have to have the tranny tuned to eliminate the factory safety that prohibits shifting from 5-6th under full throttle until 217 mph

That's a good question. My friend Karl Schello runs the Texas mile and Mojave mile in a late model Challenger. He has over 1000Hp and he goes a bit over 200mph in the standing mile. I'd assume you would need a lot more in the V to top 200 in a standing mile of course. Most likely you could get to 200mph with some basic tuning if your driving a manual and if you are running on the flats where there are no measured distance constraints
