I'm happy with my 2013 CTS-V but not very happy with General Motors. There presently is no 6.2 liter v8 for 2014 so why did they post it on their website and make it look like you can buy the high output V8. Why would they even call the 2014 a V when its nothing close to previous editions. They cheapen the brand and they cheapen themselves by doing this. No wonder the Germans are always considered as above them in quality and everything else. No class and plain stupid.

Nope all we have is not miller high life. Take a brewery trip. Pick a region in the us, research craft breweries and microbreweries and go. You'd be surprised. Just did this in the northeast. Allagash, Sam Adams, harpoon and a couple of others. There's some quality stuff here it's just not mainstream like most of the garbage you'll see on the walmart shelves.

Sam Adams is not craft beer. It's what people who want to be into good beer but don't want to take the time to learn drink. There's a great beer only bar a few towns over. They have one of the most extensive beer lists you've ever seen. Inside is a sign. It reads: "No, we don't have anything by Sam Adams. If you have to ask why, you are in the wrong place..."

Actually, my wife was LITERALLY serving our country for 14 months there. Her brother LITERALLY served our country there for two years as well after LITERALLY serving in Afghanistan. And her father LITERALLY served there for two years a long time ago. As for the quality of life, you mentioned great government achievements of a semi socialist country, the Autobahn under Hitler. That is not what I was referring to. I was referring what the general population can afford. The average person there has nothing compared to what we can afford here in America. They also don't have the opportunity. If your wife's family was the exception and not the rule, that doesn't change the facts. Funny thing is, she moved here instead of you moving there. Wonder why not the other way round? ---------- Maybe he was confusing the mayor with John Mayer? ---------- That battle was also lost a long time ago...
I know I'm going to regret this but I seem unable to stop myself. First let me apologize for any spelling errors the truth is I'm not going to invest enough time in this to check it. I returned 3 months ago after living in Germany for the last 16 years. In the last few years I have been asked to speak in front dozens of organization and groups (including the US military) wit regard to the culture differences between the EU and the US. I was not in the military but worked closely with many who were. I can say without a doubt that the understanding our fine military folks get of Germany or any other Country is very thin. The military goes to great lengths to make sure our soldiers have a large but mostly closed community to rely on whether personnel live on or off base. The differences in ownership you refer to is mostly cultural not economic. It is true that Germany has 30% of the population of the US in the same land mass of Montana so land and houses are pricey. As a result, owning a home, although much more common than your post seems to suggest, is simply not as high on the cultural priority list. Most Germans I know would place a higher priority on the quality of there vacations than buying property and would spend a much higher % of their income on free time than most Americans would be comfortable with. One other point is that that Germans have among the lowest personal ratio in the world and will often pay cash for things like a car they afford rather than borrow to get a more expensive model.

In short we are all prisoners of our own experience and I'm sure your comments represent your truth as you understand it. I can only say that my experience and research has brought me to a different conclusion.
