I will talk to some others at the next Vclub meeting

I did find this another couple devices that will take external video to the CTS nav

NAV TV has some awesome looking products

I know the guys at http://www.xmhouston.com/ sold night Vison products for cars, I'll make a call to them and see if they have done something like this yet.
The last time I contacted these sites (3-months ago) they all said there is no working video in solution unless you also purchase a $600 GVIF converter to go along with it.

why does this even matter? I actually don't know, perhaps I just think it's unnecessary to plug in a headphone cable
The iPod requires a headphone connection. I have an iPod Classic, 120GB, and there is no audio with a standard iPod-USB cable and no audio without the proprietary two-tailed cable plugged into the data and headphone ports.

I don't know why GM chose to do it this way, and their cable annoys me because it's impossible to lay the iPod flat in the console, and if I think about it there's a digital-to-analog-to-digital-to-analog thing going on, but I'm really trying not to go into a nerd rage over what is a functioning and adequate if unimpressive audio system.

But I'm still watching this thread
