I have an 09 V with 160K miles on it. The car has been excellent for those miles, but in the past several months, I've had an issue arise with the car and was wondering if you had any suggestions.
Under normal acceleration, the car behaves normally and if I accelerate in any gear up to the redline, using manual shifting, with minimal throttle, it will rev to the redline with no issue.
The problem occurs when I go WOT and then right about the time the car would be upshifting, it suddenly makes a horrible sound, like its taking a deep breath, and the car feels like the traction control has kicked in. It will decelerate like it lost all power, and then after the car shifts, and the rpms drop down, it starts accelerating hard until the next shift approaches.
I've taken it to my local mechanic, who I have much faith in, and he said that he's not sure what's going on. His best guess would be the injectors, but he doesn't want to go through that until he could verify it. He checked the fuel pressure and said that it stays where it's supposed to while the car is moving down the road.
