I have an 11 mile commute to work that is a 40/60 split of rural city and rural highway and I can barely get my 2011 V A6 to 14 MPG. Our other car is a Volt so I go from one extreme to another. So I'm very sensitive to fuel mileage, hypermiling etc.

    Good luck
This is the best advice and probably right. Running on choke before the engine heats up is devastating to mileage as is low tire inflation.

Generally I get 16MPG city 22MPG highway on 2011 V Wagon. If I flog it the mileage drops, but nothing like 6. Hope that it gets better for you.

Why is this a discussion? The "V" is not an economy car and never will be. If you feel that you need to engage in economy moves, you're in the wrong car. Please, spare us and head for other sites and by all means, sell your "V" and get an enclosed golf cart and "feel good" about lowering your "carbon footprint." I want to increase mine as much as possible. It's all about quality of life. Enjoy what you want today; tomorrow may never come. But if you really want to save the planet and your wallet, drive a bicycle. Ha haa!
