This is a FYI post. Flash-to-pass works as described in the owner's manual on the 2013 CTS-V. The owner's manual for the 2013 and 2009 say virtually the same thing, but flash-to-pass works on the 2009 only if the headlights are already on (the 2009 owner's manual does not mention this). This discrepancy was noted by many 2009 CTS-V owners and resulted in a post with many replies noting the same thing. The explanation was that Cadillac did not want to activate the HID ballast because it would wear out the ballast and would take to long to flash.
Apparently Cadillac found a way around this, and flash-to-pass works properly of the 2013. I don't know whether this was implemented prior to 2013 or not. In any case, it now works as described and expected.

Works on both 2010 and 2011.

It most definitely does not work on my 2009 and it is aggravating. I was wondering whether this would be the case on the 2013 and it is not. Thanks, Ted.
