trying to get a fix on 2011 CTS-V wagon prices.

Any comments on this? Given the fact that there were only a few options, I think it should be pretty straightforward.

I'm looking at 2011's with under 20,000 miles on them right now on autotrader, but they seem to vary a lot.

    Any comments?

Are people getting these in the $40K's yet?

I have been doing the same. Talking to the guys over at Rinke and Lund weekly to see if they are dropping prices on their used V wagons.

I logged into my Father's manheim account, this is what they are bringing at auction:

    Wow, fantastic response, thanks!

Looks like a dealer on a trade-in might have paid high 40's for a decent 2011 with less than 20,000 miles.

What do dealers typically like to see back on their cost? Does offering them $1,000 over what I expected them to have paid seem like a reasonable return for the dealership?

That is what I did for my GS350 and my wife's X5... I saw how much they paid at the auction and gave them $1K over. I was forward with them on both deals and told them the info I had and what I was willing to pay.. made it short and sweet.

If I can get a wagon for ~$40-42K next spring, the GS350 will go bye bye...

I wonder if those three Detroit-area auctions were GM Executive vehicles. If so, they usually sell for less than regular used cars, which might explain why a 2011 V-wagon with only 212 miles sold for the lowest price.

My wife used to work for GM, and I have driven many of these "executive demos".

I wouldn't ever touch one. Some may have been babied, but I bet most were passed around various regional offices getting beat on by everyone and their husband's/wives/friends, etc.

I have long suspected that is exactly why my car has so many issues. No proof though, just a suspicion. It had 8k miles and was sold at a GM auction... sounds like a demo car to me.

darn. The one I was looking at was a GM buyback. That can be good or bad. I've purchased buybacks before. Getting the full service history from the dealer. Will see how it turns out.

    Great info!

I'd love the find a wagon myself, no sunroof, in the low-mid $40K range.

Can you look up Manheim reports by VIN, also?

    Would you be willing to?

Unfortunately you can't search by specific VIN. Only Make/Model. So you have to match the color/mileage to find the car you are looking at.

Thanks. That should be easy, assuming it can go back far enough in the manheim search. Carfax shows it going to auction April 30...then May 7 as a "manufacturer vehicle".

Looks like there was an engine swap. Now I'm REALLY curious to see what the dealer paid at auction. 96Fleetwood, when you have a moment, and if you're willing, a report of that timeframe would be great!

    Weird.

This is what showed up on the Autocheck. I haven't run a Carfax yet.

Sounds like it went through Adesa?
