Silver was blah, yellow is a color I don't care for, and too many ricers, etc with red calipers.

Green was a consideration. Radiant Silver exterior doesn't have a lot of depth to it, so I was looking for a splash of color.
Thought about the lambo green or orange, but wimped out and went the ZR1 blue route.

Blue might work better with Silver.

Green came to mind because of Vivid racing's E90 M3.

Blue is by far the coolest color I have seen. Looks great on silver. I also think it would do well on a black V.

Why would you need to break down the calipers for powder coating them? I am pretty sure powder coaters bake parts between 350F and 400F for under 30 minutes. I am confident that our calipers see over 400F with spirited use and certainly higher than 400F with track use. It takes some HIGH temps to turn stock silver calipers bronze. I wouldnt worry about 400F to PC them.

Is that the Dupicolor blue? If not, where did you get the paint?

If you can find a powder coater using an infared cure oven you can get the PC cured in 10 min at 400F versus a convection cure oven at 400F for 30 min.

*and* you need a good Powdercoater that has correct sealing tubes for the calipers.

The #1 reason brembo has to rebuild these things is because people take their $1000 caliper to 'some guy' and the caliper bore's are not sealed correctly and the abrasive material scores the cylinder walls.

Ahhhh, I see. I may just paint mine first and see how it goes. I've had good skill so far with them lasting.

we actually got a V in stock with red calipers and satin graphite wheels and the black grille
(it was special ordered and the customer backed out)
I think it looks pretty sweet in this combination

ENVIOUS V and ENVIOUS V like this.

Looks good. Now if GM would let you special order the chrome trim in black too that would be awesome.

    Any pictures of the grille?

I like the touches of chrome, personally. I'll take a pic of the front tomorrow.

The chrome is nice but having more options is a plus. Some people like chrome, some don't. Personally, I think GM is missing out on a blacked out trim option from the factory.

Thanks, can't wait to see the grille.
