I have had mine sitting in garage for several months and finally got around to installing it today. HP gains may be minimal but I agree that the whine is worth every penny...though I am finding that my next purchase will likely be rear tires :-)

For those of you in CA who are also looking for CARB certification... Here's what I got from Airaid:
Thank you for your inquiry and for choosing Airaid. We know you have
several choices for aftermarket intakes and appreciate your business.
Currently the 250-253 system does not have CARB certification however it
has been submitted for approval. My suggestion for you is to retain your
stock system in case we do not have approval by the time you need to
have your car smog checked. Please let me know if you have any

I don't know about CAIs for the CTS-V, but I got a Cobb CAI for my Subaru STi and it was fully CARB certified. Came with the little gold sticker and everything. BTW, the CAI for the STi does the same thing as the CAI for the CTS-V - Massively increased turbo whine volume, as well as the sound of air rushing in.
