Question 2010's Apparently Lack Curb Assist?

I recently acquired a 2010 and as I work through the options have discovered that it apparently lacks Curb Assist (where the outside mirrors tilt down automatically to show the rear tires when the car is shifted in reverse). When investigated with the dealer, I was told that this feature was not available on 2010's. I was quite disappointed to hear this as this is a very important feature for city dwellers. This feature has been available on higher end GM cars (or at least the ones I have owned) for nearly a decade.

Does anyone have a 2010 with Curb Assist? (Basically, is the dealer correct?)
Has any 2010 owner explored what would be required to upgrade the car with this feature? I find it hard to believe that GM's basic control modules in this car are different from any other - but then, I guess this could be the outlier.

    Thanks!
    Jonathan

I had a 2004 and a 2005 CTS-V. My wife has a 2008 DTS. All three cars had the curb assist mirrors. Neither one of us has ever used the feature. I tried it on the 2004 and didn't like it. The CTS and CTS-V dropped it as a useless feature in 2009. Although the owner's manual referred to it in the programming section, it didn't work. As far as I know, this feature has disappeared from 2009 and all CTSs and CTS-Vs after that model year.

The posts that are mentioned in the previous post are about cameras, not the downward tilting mirror option previously available on CTS-Vs.

I too am very disappointed that this valuable feature was omitted, low rent move in a car such as the V. Many a wheel has been saved as a result of using curb-assist!

If you are the sole driver - set the seat memory position #2 to the same as #1 with exception of the right side mirror. Adjust the mirror where you desire it for backing and lock it in to the #2 setting. When you desire the curb assist, use the #2 button and the mirror will move to the preset, but your seat position remains unchanged.

Don't allow your wife/GF to drive your V and your good to go.

    Thank you greatly.

Yes, this is a very valuable feature for anyone who constantly parks against curbs - I find it silly that they dropped it, as if you do not want to use it, you could turn it off and the only "cost" is the software.

4DR_ZR1, perfect idea, so simple, never would have thought of that - but I will certainly be reprogramming passenger 2 tomorrow.

I also miss this feature as I've become used to it after driving my wife's older STS...

The idea of setting position #2 is definitely a good one! Thanks for that suggestion. What I've been doing is holding the button down for a couple of seconds on the right hand mirror when I go to park, so the mirror tilts down as if the car did have curb assist. It's an easy habit to get into and has become routine for me - especially if I leave the the "left-right" button set to control the right side mirror.
When I get back into the car and turn the key, the mirror automatically goes back to its normal position as programmed for driver #1.

    Best regards,

    Elie

My 2009 v has curb assist on both mirrors (early production 7/08)
