My Cobra isn't quite back together yet, so the Caddy still has de facto drag racing duty for a few more weeks.
Since it was opening weekend the track was a little green I couldn't get my 60 ft. times down near previous bests, but still managed to whittle a few more hundredths off my best ET and add a mph or two to my best trap speed.
Nice times. Good job running that Camaro down. I bet he wasn't expecting that.
Thanks. My friend, who's a shop manager at a local speed shop, was jokingly busting my chops afterward about making his customer look bad. It was a heads/cam LS1 on a DR, but the converter currently in the car currently was too tight. I had my accelerator pushed through the firewall trying to run him down on the big end. Much better than the Talon I raced late in the day that went 9.2 @ 161 and then tossed his "hazards" on.
Didn't know you were coming to town. Good to see some action again. Do you trailer your car? Great race to watch, thanks.
I don't trailer street cars to the track, not the "V" or my Cobra. If something breaks, AAA will get the car home or to a dealer.
I'm only 75 minutes from Byron and get out there about every three weeks or so. Probably be there May 1st and May 22nd, hopefully on the 22nd with the Cobra getting ready for a race the following weekend in MD. Thought I might see ya there. Only about 100 cars on Sunday, good weather for drag racing.
