    Pain to clean these wheels!!

I love them but out of all the cars I've had, including the STS V,
these wheels with all those angles are hard to clean!!!

I am not fortunate enough yet to own a CTS-V so that I may complain about cleaning the wheels, but I have heard that the new powerball attachment that just came out will do wonders for cleaning & polishing complex configured wheels. Don't remember whose product that it is though. Maybe Mother's or Maguierer's? Autopia car detailing site might be of some use here. HTH

Yes, they are tough to clean. Worst I've ever had. Still love the car though.

Is there a difference in effort needed between polished and painted wheels? What wheels do you guys have?

FWIW, a coat or 2 of good polish and / or wax will generally help keep the rims clean longer and make them easier to wipe down to remove the brake dust.

Re: Pain to clean these wheels!!

My V2 has painted wheels. I purchased a non acid wheel cleaner, "P & S Brake Duster", and a wheel cleaning tool that has a long handle and a tapered nylon brush at one end. I spray the cleaner onto the wheel, then use the brush to scrub. The 18" long "E-Z Detail" brush allows me to reach through the wheel spokes from the outside and completely through to the inside of the wheel, there-by cleaning the entire wheel surface. I then wash off all dust, grit and grime with a hose. Takes about 5 minutes to clean ALL 4 WHEELS. Wheels look like new after cleaning. Very, very easy to clean. I hate a dirty car, especially black dusty wheels. I love this car enough to keep it in a pristine condition at all times. I will never allow my wife to drive my car (smile). I purchased all materials from a local Auto Boutique that specializes in sales to owners of High End European Auto's. And, by-the-way, many of those that hangout at the shop, a gathering place for auto enthusiasts, are really impressed with our car. Most want to know how I am going to improve on an already high performance machine. The BMW, Porsche and Ferrari guys are complimentary and sharing. The Merc guys are stand-off-ish and arrogant---funny that!!

I am waiting on Hawk to release pads for the 09 V that has better braking and way less dust than the OEM pads.

Electric pressure washer from homedepot or lowes and a to z wheel cleaner by Eagle. You do not even need to touch your wheels. Then spray on the new Eagle one that keeps the wheels cleaner longer.

Isn't there some scrubbing cone you can attach to drill to make cleaning easier?
