    Clutch question

How long should a clutch last on the V? Are they known for going early? Seems to me like my clutch is slipping and the mileage is not that high 22k. I've had stick cars all my life and I do tend to beat on my cars a bit, which is why I always got heavy duty twin plate clutches. This clutch just seems to of went too quickly in my opinion which makes me wonder if it is possible there is some sort of defect.

Shouldn't. They are pretty stout units...

I'm hoping I was just half asleep and it was tire spin, not likely though.

Is your V heavily modded? The stock clutch is good to about 650 rwtq. It's pretty stout for a stock unit.

If you aren't heavily modded, the one thing the stocker does not like is slipping the clutch. It will heat up very quickly! If you ride the clutch pedal a lot while driving, you will be heating it up also.

I only have an airraid intake, car makes 524/495. I don't ride my clutch ever nor am I anywhere near. 650ftlb. My dealer has worked on my clutch pedal 3x because it constantly made a clicking noise. Could they of not adjusted it properly causing it to not fully disengaged when I let off the clutch? I will check the clutch fluid today.

Clicking could be a busted spring. You can't see the break but it makes an intermittent click.

    Re: Clutch question

I have a used CenterForce DYAD with 4773 miles available on the cheap. It was not compatible with my new 6-bolt crankshaft. PM me for info.

My OEM is at 63K mile, 15-20 road course days and it's still good.
