    BEST DRAG RADIALS for CtS-V

Just starting racing my CtS-V this year and having trouble getting traction. My best 1/4 mile time has been 12.7 and know the car is faster than this. What would be the best drag radial to get for all around driving? I don't plan on driving in the rain or bad weather and don't want to have to change tires at the dragstrip. Ideas?? Thanks!

Not changing tires at the track really limits you. Nitto NT05r's are the only thing that come to mind. You can find VERY cheap drag radials and rim setup used in the $400 to $500 range. Well worth it IMO. I like M&H racemasters, but have seen Hoosiers and M/T's used with similar success.

Yeah. Even at a 1.9, you'd cut a low 12 or a high 11....other factors not considered, however. I used Nittos on my old Camaro and they held pretty good.

nitto 555R are probably the most used drag radial to run on the street - as long as your temperatures dont drop below 39 degrees. They will give you probably 12-15k miles as long as you dont burn out that much.

I get 1.49's with M&H racemasters. 325/40/18's. NTO5's are junk without great track prep. 1.58's are actually stellar for that setup.

I use an MT 19/305 on the stock rear rim. It dead hooks mid 600s RWHP @ the track
CVP33 and Dale Pittman like this.

Have you tried leaving the TC engaged for at least take-off, and maybe 2nd? It works very well. I got a 12.17 on my second run of all time, and am very happy with that.

MT makes a 305 for a 19in wheel? What is the aspect ratio--35,40,45? I need DR for the factory wheel and a 28X10 for an 18in wheel for the track.

Get the NT05s. Best all around and low 1.6s are possible. If you are pushing over 580 at the tires, sticks will work better. I like the NT05s bc i rather a little slipage to keep from breaking at the track.

For you guys running the MT 305/35R19 are you running the stock front tire, if so is the ABS having any issues with that?

Shows them at 26" tall vs. 26.9" for stockers, not sure if that will trigger the computer or not.
