Stock dyno 425 Stock including a CAI, modified now 608whp.

I had my cay dynoed and ended up with a limp 426hp at the wheels including a CAI.

I then modded the car with a mild G9 cam, pulleys, upgraded springs, reflowed the injectors to 72lbs, ported snout and blower and a tune. Stock exhaust and power jumped to 608 at the wheels. That's a 172hp increase on a VERY conservative tune.

My tuner didn't want to go further w/o eliminating the stock CATS. He thinks he may have melted them tuning the car.

I must say that I am very surprised at the cars drivability. At light throttle and general cruising there is absolutely no difference from stock other than a slight 180 rpm increase in the idle and a slightly more detectable lump from the cam. If I wasn't looking for an increased cam lump I wouldn't even notice it. My wife didn't.

It's time to eliminate the CATS, replace the crimped exhaust pipes, add a resonator and pick up another 40hp with a more aggressive tune.

My tuner expects another 30-40 just by eliminating the CATS and replacing the mid pipes. I must say I was real disappointed in the stock numbers and the final number but I know there is more to come.

Your low power on stock was from your air filter assembly not being tuned. If you look in that dyno, It shows you where 9s air fuel ratio. Which is why you are 30 hp lower than normal values for a stock car.
The cold air kit just wasn't tuned to fix air fuel ratios.

In your stock run, you made 444 hp according to the dyno log you uploaded. Which would have been about 488-490 if the fuel ratio would have been in the higher 11.s/ You can see how the engine was breaking up from the to rich of a mixture.

As for hp setup vs your final hp, It sounds about right on. Usually that exact setup we are at 620hp. So not to far off.

With headers or cat delete pipes you will gain 8 more hp.

    ----------

Edit: ported snout/blower when we do that with your combo we are at 650.

Thanks for the comments Jesse. I wish you were located closer to me.

I would still expect more with CAT delete and a leaner mix.

In your final pull as per that dyno you where running 13.0 which is WAY to lean near peak torque. I would get it re dyno tuned. Target for your car is 11.4 At no point in wot should you be in the 13s.

If the tuner wants to know why it is doing that, have him give me a call and I will tell him the fix. It also looks like it is getting a lot of KR during that entire run, past 2500 rpms. As you can see the computer trying to add it back in and pulling it back out. "wavy"

So to answer your last message, on leaner mix. You are already VERY dangerously lean.

Im using a 2.55 upper and 9.1 lower pulley.

I must say that it was V Locity's sound bite that put me over the top on getting the cam.

Yea... The GT9 is very close to the stock cam in sound & streetability. Oh, btw, you may want to monitor your IDC in the cold months with the 72lb injectors...

    Many smiles ahead!

Injector Duty Cycle is where I think he's headed.

    Yes, Injector Duty Cycle. Sorry

Your build is similar to mine & I'm at 80% duty cycle, in cold weather, with the stock pump & 85lb injectors...
