What are your opinions in regards to locking up the tq converter on WOT runs?

So, I have always heard that it's better to leave your converter unlocked on a WOT run, but the other day at the strip I spoke with two tuners that both stated they get better times locking up the converter at peak torque in 2nd and on. they only leave it unlocked in 1st. What do you guys think?

Your car from the factory is locked up at full throttle.

Unlocking it would slow you down.

You have a very nice top of the line carbon liner in your stock converter.

Thx W4M, I was confused since the factory has it locking in Drive, but not in Sport mode. I believe I will go ahead and lock mine in both!

Ill have to try locking the converter in first gear, It might help on the higher hp car that don't need to slip...

I can see why they let it not lock in second, as it is sometimes in second gear from a stop depending on sport or normal mode. IT would be a slug if you had it locked and took off in second. First gear though should be pretty nice...

Im busy hacking my fisker drive control systems today, but later I might give it a go...
